In one of my more entrepreneurial phases, I started a small personal endeavor that has proven to be quite useful for me. Being one of the older people at work, I have had numerous occasions to celebrate co-workers having babies. I like to give personal gifts to friends, so I started to make outfits for my friends having new little ones. These are tie dyed and decorated onesies, with matching accessories such as headbands, barrettes, etc.
It also has added some income to my sparse existence to be able to sell some, and also make outfits for friends to give as gifts too. Shown are some pictures of some of the more popular ones. Contact me if you need a gift for a pregnant friend.

Having been a teacher for the past 17 years, I have found that making a connection with my students is one of the most important phases of the beginning of each year. I start off the year trying to create a welcome back bulletin board that will catch the interest of the students and draw them in.
I have had several very successful boards over the past few years. These include: a "Schoolbook" knock off of facebook, a board that incorporated the alien toys from Toy Story, and a wordsearch for the names of the students in my class.
I have also made some intriguing boards for the "Read Across America" week celebration that our school embraces. These are based on Dr. Suess books. We have done hall decorations for the "500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins," "Mr. Brown Can, Moo Can You?", "The Lorax,' and an alphabet reminiscent of Dr. Suess's ABC. The quest each year to make colorful, interesting, and creative bulletin boards is the goal of teachers everywhere. I thought it would help to share some ideas with others.
